Cindy Sisson – Acquisitions and Distributions Executive

As an Independent Film Consultant, Cindy Sison counts among her clients Forbidden City International, Pantheon International, Red Crest Entertainment, and Outrider Pictures. Sison was more recently with Santa Monica Studios where she served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development & Planning, creating plans for new businesses and securing their funding for the studio’s unique technology / entertainment profile. Sison was also Head of International Sales and Distribution at Santa Monica Pictures, where she oversaw sales and secured financing and distribution for SMP product since 1997.

Prior to joining Santa Monica Pictures, she owned Sisman Communications, an independent consultancy formed in 1994. Sison's former clients included Devin International, Good Times Home Video and the Shanghai International Film Festival, among others. She also secured theatrical exposure and international distribution for the documentary Maya Lin: A Strong Clear Vision, which won a Best Feature Documentary Oscar in 1995.

Sison served as Vice President of Marketing and Planning for Trans Atlantic Entertainment from 1992 to 1994 after the company established a joint venture with I.R.S. Media. At I.R.S., she was integrally involved in the creation of I.R.S. Releasing and I.R.S. Media International, where she served as Vice President of International Distribution from 1989-1992. During those years, she gained her initial exposure to international pre-sales and packaging by shepherding films such as Carl Franklin's One False Move, hailed by Gene Siskel as "1992 Best Film of the Year" and listed on over 130 Top 10 Best Films of 1992. Other critically acclaimed and award-winning films Sison handled internationally include Alison Anders' Gas Food and Lodging; Stacy Cochran's My New Gun; Philip Haas' The Music of Chance, and James Ivory's Oscar-winning Howards End.

Sison associate produced a U.S.-Philippine co-production, American Adobo, which garnered a $13,000+ per screen average in its U.S. theatrical debut in limited release, and produced an award-winning original family drama My American Vacation starring Tsai Chin (JOY LUCK CLUB).

A graduate of UCLA with a B.A. and M.B.A., Sison is currently President and co-Founding member of CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment).
